Board of Directors

Chris Barnett, President

Chris has lived in Castle Rock since 2011 and is currently building a water, fire, and mold damage restoration business. He joined CASC in 2016 and was selected as a board member in 2017. 


When he isn't leading the CASC board in their endeavors to enrich the cultural life of Parker, he enjoys skiing, hiking, and investing.

Drew Malatesta, Vice President

Drew has lived in Parker since 2012 and joined CASC as a board member in 2018. He is actively involved in the community, including recreation sports with the Town of Parker.


Drew works for an energy company headquartered in Houston, Texas. When he isn't working or planning events with CASC, he enjoys music, sports, camping in the outdoors, and spending time with his family.


Catherine Traffis, Secretary

Catherine joined CASC as a board member in 2021 and has lived in Parker since 2004. She has been actively involved in the Parker community since that time and has been on the board of the Parker Area Historical Society for almost fifteen years. She is a full-time writer, currently writing for Microsoft and formerly as a grammar expert for the Grammarly blog. 


Catherine is originally from Toronto, Canada and is an accomplished musician with degrees in piano and musicology. She enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and three sons and reads everything she can get her hands on.


Melanie McCurdy​, Treasurer

Melanie joined CASC as Treasurer in 2022. She is a Colorado native and has called Parker home for over 30 years. She is the owner of McMeekin & Associates, a Parker-based tax preparation firm serving individual and business clients.

In her spare time, Melanie enjoys music, camping, traveling, and spending time with her family.


Curt Carey, Board Member

Curt has lived in Parker since 2010 and joined CASC as a Board Member in 2017. In addition he has been on the Board of the Parker Area Historical Society since 2020 and previously served as a Board Member and Treasurer for the Parker Area Chamber of Commerce.


Continuing in his service to the community in Parker and surrounding areas, Curt is currently the Assistant Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 88 in Parker and the former Cub Scout Leader for Pack 369. He has also coached for the Town of Parker Recreation Department and volunteered for Parker Arts at the Parker PACE Center.


He has a love for sailing and has been actively involved in various sailing programs and clubs. He was the Treasurer for Sail Chicago, a nonprofit sailing club, and a Sailing instructor for both Hammond Sail-A-Way disable sailing program and the University of Wisconsin Hoofer Sailing Club.


Curt is a managing member of Peak Accounting Service LLC.


Craig Scott, Board Member

Craig has lived in Elizabeth since 2016 and joined CASC as a board member in 2022. He is a retired president of a technology research corporation in northern Virginia and a retired Army Engineer Lieutenant Colonel. 


Craig received BS and MS degrees in Geology from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with post-graduate work at the University of Southern California in Systems Management. He loves to travel in the U.S. and internationally and spends much of his time taking care of two horses, one donkey, six dogs, three goats, twelve chickens, and one cat, plus the land they all reside on.
